For July 4th week we are in Liberty, Missouri. As well as having the perfect name, it is also just a 250 hundred miles due east from the geographic center of the United States (Lebanon, KS). Liberty has a population of ~30,000 and is a satellite suburb of Kansas City.
Using the 23,000+ store locations we have mapped in DecaSIM: Compete , we ran an analysis using our data to see if we can work out which stores will be closed.
In our eleventh outing, we visit zip code 46204 in Indianapolis. This zip code has a population of ~9800 and its characteristics of high median income ($88k) and a high rental percentage (81%) indicate younger, white collar households.
In our 10th post we are in Montclair and Little Falls NJ area this week. Zip codes 07424, 07044, and 07043 lie 20 miles west of Manhattan. So as with last week we are within an easy commute of New York City, and all that entails.
We looked at four banners in this region, The Fresh Grocer, Shop Rite, Acme Market and Kings Food. Its head-to-head of Wakefern co-op vs Albertsons family banners.

This week we hit 110 banners uploaded to our map and crossed 22,000 store locations uploaded to DecaSIM Compete. As we have seen in previous weeks, as our banner count increases we are adding banners with fewer stores. This week is no exception as we take a trip to East Meadow, NY. East Meadow, zip code 11554, is a hamlet on Long Island, NY, with population 36,806.
